Overview of Banquet Facilities
We offer two banquet facilities, the first of which is the main social hall
attached to our parish, Dormition of the
Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church. Our social hall became operational in 1973, some 50 years
after our parish was founded. The main social hall is ideal for larger functions, as it can
accommodate 200 to 400 guests. The facility rental fee is waived for events hosting 200 or more
guests.
A large area for the buffet exists and allows for easy access and traffic flow, which does not
interfere with the location of the guest tables and dance floor. The bar is also easily
accessible for drinks before returning to your table. The main banquet facility also features a
comfortable bridal room where brides and their attendants can relax and freshen up before their
formal introductions.
The second of our facilities is the Riverside Landing, which is located directly across the street
from the main banquet facility and is situated along the Allegheny River. The Riverside Landing is
suitable for functions accommodating guests from 50 to 200. Riverside Landing also features an
outside seating and smoking area on the upper deck with a scenic panoramic view of the
Allegheny River. This outside deck area is also handicapped equipped and child safe. The main
food area is located on one side and is typically where the buffet is situated. The bar is
separate, yet visible from the adjoining dining area, and also offers views of the river.
Both banquet facilities offer the following:
- Ample lighted parking, which is always free.
- Wheel chair accessibility, with a well-lit entrance that includes a welcome sign, if desired.
- A welcome sign that will feature your event or names of the bride and groom.
- A table for place cards and a gift table will also be provided at the main entrance. As each
guest enters, they'll be able to easily find their table by the provided table numbers.
- Lighting and decor throughout the facilities is provided at no additional charge.
- A beautiful lighted archway at the entrance of each facility.
- Spacious, handicapped-equipped restrooms are conveniently located and include a changing
table and full length mirror in the ladies room.
- A full bar where you can bring your own liquor or have it provided for you for an
additional fee. Pop, all hook ups and bartenders are also available for your convenience.
